When he was first elected, Michael Bloomberg was known as the "Metrocard Mayor" for his well-publicized daily use of the NYC subway system. This also conveyed a message of he was a mayor who was accessible to his constituents.
But now, this New York Times article shows that Bloomberg spends a significant part of his daily commute not on the subway at all, but in an SUV. That isn't really the worst part though. The worst part is that he's trying to push green initiatives for NYC, and he has two Chevy Suburbans waiting for him each morning. The Chevy Suburban is among one of the biggest gas-guzzlers on the market.
