As per usual, the South lags behind the rest of the country in displaying foresight on certain issues, if they ever reach that point at all. The Georgia legislature recently held a conference called "Global Warming: Debunking the Myth or a Need for Climate Change Policy." Rather than show any kind of balance, the hearing was dominated by global-warming deniers who are paid by the oil and energy companies. Thankfully, the stance of the Georgia legislature is not representative of the rest of the country, in which states are doing their best to cut down on carbon dioxide emissions.
