Madison Ave. Warms to Climate Change
In something that was unthinkable not too long ago, major advertising agencies are competing for the account of the Alliance for Climate Protection, Al Gore's organization to raise awareness of global warming. It was unthinkable due to the fact that many of these agencies have among their clients major corporations whose business depends on the status quo, and denying global warming. The ad agencies feared retaliation from these companies, such as Chevron. But now that the issue is in the limelight, and is very popular, this tactic would likely backfire. So this is yet another step that there will be further awareness of global warming in advertising and other ventures, and hopefully we'll follow up on it and be ready and willing to do our part.
