Intelligence Estimate: Snoozeville (Updated)

Intelligence Estimate: Snoozeville (Updated)

Let's hope that the classified National Intelligence Estimate is way, way more meaty that the unclassified version. Because this open-to-the-public edition of the report is pretty lame.

341naptimeforallConsider altogether underwhelming conclusions:

    * "Lebanese Hizballah... may be more likely to consider attacking the Homeland over the next three years if it perceives the United States as posing a direct threat to the group or Iran." No way!

    * "Globalization trends and recent technological advances will continue to enable even small numbers of alienate people to find and connect with one another, justify and intensify their anger, and mobilize resources to attack." Get out of town!

    * "al-Qa'ida's Homeland plotting is likely to continue to focus on prominent political, economic, and infrastructure targets." You don't say!

As Sharon notes, there are a few titillating tidbits in the Estimate -- like the references to al-Qai'da in Iraq, and non-Muslim terror groups. But please, Lord, let our spies have more insight than this.

On top of the obvious, which the blogger has already gone through, what is the Homeland? Why is the "h" capped? I hate that term so much, it reminds me of "Fatherland".
